I think the month of May should be permanently renamed Design Month in New York City. Nestled between BKlyn Designs, the Kips Bay Show House and ICFF there are a plethora of design oriented collection launches, events, book signing and openings. What is a design-aficionado to do with all the busy on the calendar during this glorious month?
I popped into John Rosselli (one of my most favorite showrooms ever!) at the D&D building in New York City this week to hear renowned interior designer Mary McDonald discuss her new furniture collection with Chaddock Home and offered to the trade at John Rosselli. Mary McDonald is an award winning Los Angeles-based designer who also starred in Bravo TV’s “Million Dollar Decorators” series. It is a pleasure to listen to Mary speak and she often peppers her informative talks about design with a relentless sense of humor that is infectious. The presentation was led by StyleBeat author marisa marcantonio, and during the discussion we learned first-hand about the new collection on the showroom floor. This is a 65-piece collection of case good and upholstery pieces, inspired by Classical Greco-Roman and neoclassical forms with a special nod to Louis XVI, plus a bit of glamour. Most of the 65 pieces are available in 70 standard wood and paint finishes, and offered upholstered on a wide selection of fabrics to boot. In addition, most of the collection allows for Bespoke customization options. Almost all made are made the USA, and the furniture is also offered with advantageous lead times.
Is that not brilliant?
