WELCOME to Nest by Tamara blog
Hi- It's Tamara. I'm happy you've stopped by, and since 2010 I've been sharing my passion for interior design, history, art, entertaining, travel & fashion. I am an interior designer, textile designer and writer living and working in New York City and East Hampton, Long Island. My musings have taken me to international design, art, antique and epicurean events and I have lots to share. I'm grateful to have been listed as the #1 top design blog, blogs to watch, top design blogs and named and awarded Rising Star of Design by the IFDA NY industry organization. Please feel free to reach out to our team for an interior design consultation at NestbyTamara.com -Tamara

Tamara Stephenson & Susan Young
What is Root Cellar Designs?
My long-time friend and fashion designer Susan Young and I started a new collaboration together, a custom textile company while channeling our collective love for history but with modern, fresh creations and palettes.  We are making our debut of table linens, tea towels, art, pillows and all we custom design with natural fibers (cotton, linen, down) and sewn in the USA while supporting local garment district work rooms in New York City!  We are debuting our designs at five philanthropic design-industry events this spring and summer and then will begin selling our creations at various design and art shows throughout the NYC metropolitan area.  Please check back weekly for calendar dates, info on shows we'll be attending and other news worthy updates on our
Root Cellar Design page here on the blog.  In the meantime, we hope you'll stop into the art and design show is in Sag Harbor, Long Island
on June 19&20.  By Summer we will have three collections for sale!
We also sell select pieces in our etsy shop
Please check us out on Facebook & Instagram as well!
Just since this April 2015 we are grateful for all
the amazing press & compliments from:

April 15-Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Gala:
We decorated a table for the The Lenox Hill Neighborhood House black tie gala at Cipriani in Grand Central Station, and in keeping with the event's theme of the Garden of Eden, we created a fig inspired collection of toile fabrics and donned the table with our tablecloth, napkins, tea towels and coasters.
