Back To School decorating often needs to happen on a "shoestring budget".  For many of us, sending kids off to college is a huge expense, and we are tapped out financially by the time they move into their new dorm or digs.  However, their first new home holds more weight for them than we may at first understand.  While we want them to be comfortable, their first time away from the "nest" it is importance their new dorm or apartment reflects their personality.

On that note my daughter left for her sophomore year at Cornell University this year, taking a new apartment with another fellow Cornellian student.  They both ride on the  Varsity Equestrian Team as well as study animal science in the Agriculture School.  Being a part of the University's equestrian team is a big commitment with early morning riding, lessons and barn chores.  Farms and horses, agriculture life and the scientific study of animals plays a big part in their new life away from home.  It became apparent their home should reflect their lifestyle and their passions.

Channeling their love of the ocean (to remember home), farms, horses and animals these girls longed to create a stylish and comfortable home but yes, on a tiny budget.  I immediately fell hard for Eric and Christopher's designs.  Due to the focus on farm animals, these cutting edge and stylish pillows are perfectly poised to fit within their new home. The fabric, printed black and ecru designs screen printed to give an artistic light to these creatures will work well with the plan.  The company's focus and philosophy works well with all of it as well.  The pillows have a removable hypo-allergenic insert, are hand screen printed and sewn in Bucks County, PA. The material is 100% natural canvas cotton.  Easy to spot clean the pillows are chunky at 21"

Hot Off The Press,
we are happy to have their new
horse #2 pillow
 a lovely owl...
 and a pensive cow!

Other designs from their collections we love,

A lil' bit about Eric and Christopher:
Eric Fausnacht and Christopher Kline are two talented artists who came together to make Made In the USA products channeling a love of animals.  Eric Fausnacht hails from Buck's County PA, and has dedicated much of his life to drawing and depicting birds and other animals.  Eric is an award winning artist whose works are shown both locally and nationally as well.  Christopher Kline hails from Bermuda but raised in PA, started a screen painting business "Kanika" and is also an award wining artists exhibiting oil paintings around Bucks County. In 2012 the two artists paired up to create "Eric and Christopher" and immediately sold over 1,000 pillows in the first few months. They make totes and images on canvas as well.
Stop back in September for more about Eric and Christopher,
and see the design project installed.
Happy Nesting
